Days Out

At the Bude Haven, you are ideally based to enjoy some excellent days out.

Bude is a delightful little Cornish town, which grew from the original fishing village of Bude Haven, and boasts some excellent beaches.   View Bude's Beaches

Within a few miles there are some memorable places to visit:

*   picturesque harbours of Port Isaac (Doc Martin fame) and Boscastle

*   the history of Tintagel and Clovelly

*   the Camel Estuary with Padstow and Rock

*   the beautiful gardens at Rosemoor, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan

*   the Eden Project - is only an hour away

*   the ruggedness of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor

Walking

 

Some of the best walking country in the South West lies adjacent to Bude, perfect for gentle strolls, family walks and days out for experienced walkers.

The hotel has six planned and varied walks with maps that can be borrowed :

*   Bude Canal and Coastline

*   Coombe Valley

*   Camel Valley

*   Bodmin Moor

*   Camelot

*   Valency Valley

Golf

The hotel is within half a mile of the Bude North Cornwall Golf Course and we have negotiated discounted green fees with many of the local courses.

An excellent variety of courses are available, some traditional links courses and some testing parklands courses - all within easy reach.

Golfing breaks can be arranged and tailored to your budget.  

Horse Riding

A choice of excellent local stables that take in some fantastic views of Bude and its coastline.

Horse and pony trekking, avoiding roads, suitable for adults and children, novice or experienced riders. Experienced staff escort you in small groups on well cared for horses.

Field Archery / Clay Pigeon Shooting

Try some new activities - experience some expert tuition for the Field Archery, from Mike or Ross Hodinott, and from Nigel Bond for the Clay Pigeon Shooting - you will be amazed at your own ability.

Watersports

The Bude area offers excellent opportunities for surfing - Crooklets Beach and Summerleaze Beach are within a mile of the Bude Haven, whilst Widemouth Bay is less than 5 miles away.

The Upper Tamar Lake (5 miles) offers the opportunity for windsurfing, kayaking and sailing.
